Praised for her “superb piani dynamic, hear5elt passion [and] outstanding stage presence” (Online Merker), soprano Laura Nielsen is excited to perform Mimì in G. Puccini’s La Bohème with SOLO. In the 2023/24 season, Nielsen performed Kassandra in Weingartner’s Orestes (Theater Erfurt) and Freia in Wagner’s Das Rheingold (Theater Erfurt). During the 2022/23 season, Nielsen was a Canadian Opera Company CompeXXon finalist and won Second Prize at the NATS ArXst Award CompeXXon in New York City. In 2021/22, she was a District Winner for the Metropolitan Opera Laffont CompeXXon (Canada District). Nielsen holds a B.Mus. and A.D. from Western University and an M.Mus. in Opera Performance from Yale University.
