Karoline Podolak

Karoline Podolak is a soprano from Toronto, Canada. She discovered her passion for opera while studying privately with Kinga Mitrowska, with whom she studies to this day. In 2019, Karoline commenced her Master’s degree studies in Opera Performance at the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland. In November 2019, Karoline had her operatic debut at Silesian Opera House, as Zuzia in Moniuszko’s Verbum Nobile; and in January 2020 she performed the role of Adele in Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus. In 2021, Karoline won first place at the Polish Academy of Music Tournament, declaring her the best soprano student in the country. She won the Audience Award/First Prize at the XVII Great Tenor Gala Festival in Ciechocinek, Poland, and was a finalist at the Toronto Mozart Vocal Competition, the Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský International Singing Competition in Slovakia, and was a semi-finalist at Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino, Italy. Also in 2021, Karoline was named as one of the Jeunes Ambassadeur Lyriques of Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20, where she won several international engagements in Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, France, the United States, and Mexico. In January 2022, Karoline sang in the 2022 Mexico-Canada concert in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In March 2022, Karoline had her debut as Violetta in La Traviata at the National Opera and Ballet of Bulgaria. Karoline is a 2022 winner of the Toronto-Buffalo District at the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, and received an Encouragement Award at the Great Lakes Region Round.
