Stephanie Yelovich

Mezzo-soprano Stephanie Yelovich, has been described as having “a voice of flowing lava, of lush notes top to bottom…a voice of power, substance and cut.” Most recently she appeared as a guest artist with the Oakville Symphony singing Berlioz’ demanding lyric scene, La mort de Cléopâtra. In November of 2022 she appeared with Abridged Opera as Mrs. Grose in their production of Turn of The Screw, performed with the Windsor Symphony. She was also recently heard with Cantate Iterum and Oxford Collegium Singers as their alto soloist in their past three productions of The Messiah. In May of 2023 Stephanie had the pleasure of joining Oxford Collegium Singers to sing the alto soloist in Mendelsohn’s Elijah. 

Other credits include: Theresa in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Frugola in Il Tabarro and La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica with Opera Niagara, Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte with Highlands Opera Studio, Second Wood Nymph in Rusalka with Opera NUOVA, Lilah in the Toronto World Pride premiere of Uyeda’s When the Sun Comes Out, A Girl in the Canadian concert premiere of West Side Story, as well as the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah, both with the Brott Music Festival.

Stephanie has had the privilege of singing in multiple concerts across Italy as part of the Operavision Academy seasons. One special highlight includes the Gran Concerto Finale, curated and conducted by Maestro Richard Bonynge, under whom she also coached excerpts from Lucia di Lamermoor, I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Rosenkavalier and Samson et Delilah. 

Stephanie has appeared with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony alongside the comedic maestro, Rainer Hersch and had the great pleasure of being featured by the Oakville Symphony in the 2019/2020 season under the baton of Maestro Roberto De Clara. 

You might have spotted her and heard her sing in the U.S. UEFC Paramount+ Commercial aired at the Grammy’s and the Super Bowl directed by Tom Hooper (Les Misérables, The Kings Speech). 

Currently, Stephanie is completing her one year Master Apprentice program in the healing art of Reiki and maintains a practice where she offers treatments and teaches this modality to others. She also teaches beginner foundations and studies at Belly Up Bellydance Studio in Burlington, under Joharah Kolishenco. She studies with powerhouse soprano Dr. Maria Vetere in Niagara Falls, ON.
