Tenor Slava Serebrianik brings many diverse skills to his budding career in opera. A competitive gymnast early in his life, he came to singing as a young man almost by chance.
After moving to Canada from Russia in his early 20s, he began to study singing, found a passion for the craft, and discovered that he had an innate sense of music ability and a blossoming full lyric sound.
He is exploring the tenor repertoire with passion and focus, having already been contracted to perform such roles as Don Jose (Carmen – Bizet), Gherman (Queen of Spades – Tchaikovsky), Bayan (Ruslan i Lyudmilla – Glinka) and Alfredo (La Traviata – Verdi) with companies in Canada, and is now embarking on a career in Europe.
Working with Marjorie Sparks and Bass Baritone Gary Relyea to expand his repertoire as he builds his performance resume, he is well on his way to a brilliant career.
Slava is based in Toronto, ON with his wife and 3 young children.
