Diego Catalá

Diego Catalá is a graduate of The Glenn Gould School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies from York University. Diego is a captivating operatic performer whose roles include: Capellio (Capuleti e i Montecchi), Q (James Bond: A Convienent Lie), Triquet (Los Gavilanes), Bardolfo (Falstaff), Frank Maurant ( Street Scene), El Rey (Gato con botas) Marryman (Ernest, the importance of being)  Belcore (L’elisir d’amore),Ragman (Louise), Escamillo (Carmen), Caballero de Gracia (La Gran Via), Germont (La Traviata), Felipe (La Revoltosa), Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Ernest (Le Laureat) Mercurio (La Calisto), and Papageno (The Magic Flute). In the summer of 2016 Diego made his debut at Carnegie Hall singing Don Giovanni, a role he is well known for and has sung many times throughout his operatic career. Mr. Catalá will perform the role of the Naturalist, in the opera James Bond: A Convenient Lie produced by Malfi Productions which will tour Southern Ontario this Fall and early 2018. This fall Diego can be seen as the Marquis in the Canadian premiere of The Widow presented by Toronto Operetta Theatre. Mr. Catalá will perform the title role of Figaro in I Due Figaro presented by Voicebox: Opera in Concert this February 2018.
