Winner of the 2015 National Opera Competition of Canada, soprano Amelia Daigle is known for her rich, lyrical timbre and for “commanding time and space brilliantly and elegantly” (Emerging Artist Reviews Toronto) Amelia is thrilled to be making her debut as Musetta with SOLO in this production of G. Puccini’s La Bohème. Notable performances include the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon (WSO, March 2019), Liù in Puccini’s Turandot (OBR, March 2020), and Queen Monarch in the world premiere of the original Canadian opera Flutter (WSO, April 2024). This past season Ms. Daigle had the pleasure of singing the soprano solo in the Brahms Requiem with the Windsor Symphony under the baton of maestro Robert Franz in addition to traveling and performing in a concert featuring Spanish Art Song with her duo Alma in Berlin, Germany. Upcoming performances include singing the soprano solo in Schubert’s Mass in G and singing the role of Sorella Cercatrice in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with the WSO (Nov & Dec 2024). Ms. Daigle holds an MMus in Vocal Performance and Literature from Western University and has received training at various workshops such as Operavision Academy (Busseto, Italy) and Académie de la Roche D’Hys (Massingy-lès-Vitteaux, France)
