Born in Ontario, Vanessa Oude-Reimerink is a young soprano who is quickly gaining recognition for her performances in opera, music theatre, and contemporary collaborations.
Vanessa is an alumnus of Calgary Opera’s Opera’s Emerging Artist Development Program and Vancouver Opera’s Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program. Last season, Vanessa performed Nellie Forbush in South Pacific with Calgary Opera’s Opera in the Village Festival, Josephine in Edmonton Opera’s production of HMS Pinafore and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. Next season she will return to Edmonton Opera to reprise the role of Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Recent appearances include Barbarina/Susanna (cover) in Le Nozze di Figaro (Calgary Opera and Vancouver Opera), Sandman/Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel (Vancouver Opera), Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia (Banff Centre/Against the Grain), Cathy in The Last Five Years (Toronto Summer Music Festival) and Frasquita in Carmen (Edmonton Opera).
